Renting vs Buying in Kampala: What Makes Sense in 2026?

At those numbers, the rent-to-price ratio makes buying financially compelling for anyone with a stable income and a medium-term horizon — particularly if mortgage financing is available at reasonable rates.

For most Ugandans with a stable income and a plan to stay in Kampala for five years or more, buying makes more long-term financial sense than renting.
